Strawberries

June 24, 2008

I love them at this time of the year, absolutely love them.

MySpace

June 19, 2008

Lin and I finally moved my computer and other last bits and pieces over from Lancing a couple of weeks ago. I’ve now got broadband set up in my new place and have had a recent burst of enthusiasm for MySpace, now up to 9000 plays and nearly 1500 friends. Is this good? Does it mean much?! I’m not sure really but I suspect I’m going to give it a bit more of a serious push over the next few months. I need to get a couple more tunes and maybe some more pictures up. It has already helped me get radio play on several occasions and also one of the most positive reviews of the last album. Even though there is still a lot about it I don’t like, it works and it can be fun. I have made connections with quite a few people who I really wish I could meet in real life. Anything that gets some of my music across to others is groovy by me!

Ups and downs

June 19, 2008

Recently I have been quite lucky with some different agency work in Sussex, a housing project for people with mental health and drug and alcohol issues. Nice place and staff, although the manager has just left for a job nearer home. Last week one of the residents was arrested and escorted out by the police in handcuffs but most of the time the whole thing is pretty laid back and better paid than most of what I do. There’s been a bit of gardening to do, very therapeutic. A few strawberries have come through and some parsnips, carrots and spring onions have all been planted. On the train there and back I’ve been reading some Noam Chomsky.

Today was a day off work spent at Lin’s, who is off work with a bad wrist at the moment. Watched the latest episode of Dr. Who that Lin kindly taped for me, a heavy psychological number. Then there was a lot of rolling around the floor with Domino (the cat) that does wonders for my soul.
